Set up your dashboard and post updates
Click Add widgets on your Dashboard to drag in the pieces you want, and click Done. To tell the team something, open Activity and type in Post an update to your workspace….
Updated
Choose your widgets
- 1Open Dashboard and click Add widgets at the top.
- 2In Widgets, click a widget's add button or drag it onto your dashboard.
- 3Drag widgets by their handle to rearrange them, use the size buttons on each one, or remove one.
- 4Click Done (or press Esc).
- A new dashboard starts with Overview, Add anything, Tasks and Quick capture. Overview sums up your day in a sentence or two: what's overdue, what's due today, what's on your calendar and how many notifications are unread.
- Other widgets include Projects, Team, Chat, Workspaces, Focus, Overdue spotlight, Upcoming events, World clock and Section title.
- Your dashboard is yours: changing it doesn't change anyone else's.
Add anything from the dashboard
Type into Add a task, meeting, reminder or message — or ask a question in plain words, like "Meeting with Sam tomorrow afternoon" or "Remind me to send the report tomorrow at 9am". The send button names what it will do (Add task, Add event, Set reminder). To choose yourself, click Event, Task, Reminder, Message or Project next to Create.
The Tasks widget below sorts your own tasks into Overdue, Today, Upcoming and Inbox.
Post an update
- 1Click Activity in the sidebar.
- 2Type in Post an update to your workspace….
- 3If you like, pick a Category (Announcement, FYI, Heartbeat, Pitch or Question) and Attach an image, a video or a document.
- 4Click Post update, or press Cmd+Enter (Ctrl+Enter on Windows).
- Everyone in the workspace can post. Only the person who posted can delete a post (Delete post).
- On a post, click the heart to react and Reply to comment.
- Filter the feed by type, by person and by Today, This week, This month or All time.
- On Free, the feed shows the last 30 days. Older activity is hidden, not deleted, and comes back when you upgrade.
